Business Plan Proposal Assistance, Business Opportunities

Business Plan Proposal

Often, a business may have the opportunity or need to submit a business plan proposal. Not to be confused with a business plan, which is designed to solicit capital for a new or growing business, a proposal is a bid submitted to a larger corporation to solicit business for the benefit of both companies. In this situation, a company will want to write and submit a formal business proposal for the corporation to consider.

Types of Business Plan Proposals

There are essentially two primary types of business plan proposals: solicited and unsolicited.

A solicited proposal is one written as an answer to either an open call for contractors or smaller companies to complete a particular task or a request for a specific project from a corporation or government organization. Occasionally, these larger companies will approach small businesses directly about this opportunity, while other times, there will be an open advertisement announcing the availability of the project and the deadline to apply.

An unsolicited proposal is a document submitted to a larger corporation proposing a potential partnership that will benefit both companies. This can be either a long-term or short-term relationship, depending, of course, on the nature of the business.
